Castro Group obtained the LEED AP certification, specialising in Building Design + Construction (BD+C), created by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), of which Castro Buil is a member. The USGBC is a non-profit organization that created the LEED, Leadership in Energy & Environmental assessment system, the best program for designing and evaluating green buildings.
This certification, LEED AP, specializing in Building Design + Construction (BD+C), is a credential demonstrating depth of knowledge of the LEED certification system and the ability to actively participate in certified green buildings and communities.
Fernanda Zelaya, Architect & Sustainability Manager of the Group’s Sustainability Department, completed the project and thus joins an international group of professionals seeking to develop greener projects, save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier lives and environments for its occupants and the community. Castro Group now has expertise in the design and construction phases of new construction and significant renovations of green buildings in the commercial, residential, educational and healthcare sectors.
The Group’s projects, such as FUSE VALLEY and SPARK Matosinhos, are thought of from the design stages with very ambitious sustainability goals. This achievement is another step forward on this path.
