Closer than ever: 7 words that defined 2025

2025 was a year of action and vision. A year of projects launched and ideas taking shape. A year in which we were closer than ever to people, teams, partners, communities, and the territory.

2025 was a year of action and vision. A year of projects launched and ideas taking shape. A year in which we were closer than ever to people, teams, partners, communities, and the territory.

In a context where projects are conceived daily, solutions are designed, and new realities are shaped, it’s essential to pause, shift the lens, and take a lighter look: to revisit what we’ve done, reflect on the mark we’ve left on places and people, and envision what we want to keep building.

As we step into 2026, we’ve chosen the seven words that guided us throughout the year, and that we want to carry with us into the future.

  1. Proximity

Being close is more than a matter of location, it’s a mindset. In 2025, we reaffirmed our commitment to human, urban, and institutional proximity.

We designed spaces that connect people to the city, to nature, and to one another. We created moments of encounter, projects with a face, and relationships with meaning.

  1. Flexibility

It was the year we named what we had already been putting into practice: flexibility with purpose.

With the launch of Buz, the Group’s new brand dedicated to Flex Working and Flex Living, we set out a clear vision for spaces that adapt to people.

We spoke about more agile ways of working, new ways of living, and solutions that combine freedom, comfort, and functionality. For us, flexibility is a way of respecting the time, lives, and talents of those who inhabit the spaces we create.

  1. Impact

In a year marked by growing regulatory demands, we responded with what has always driven us: coherence between words, action, and results.

We launched Nexa, our dedicated real estate investment management company, setting a new benchmark for rigour, transparency, and responsibility in how we manage capital and create value.

We spoke of real sustainability, backed by data and action. We strengthened our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, anticipating the implementation of regulations such as the CSRD and CSDDD. In our Sustainability Report, and in everything we do, impact is designed to be measurable, lasting, and shared.

  1. Culture

For us, nurturing culture is about building authentically, from the inside out.

In 2025, we continued to invest in our team, celebrated achievements, created meaningful experiences, and strengthened the rituals that shape our internal identity.

But we also brought that culture into the public space: we once again supported the Serralves Foundation, reactivated the territory with the art installation at BUZ in La Movida by Projecto Ruído, added colour to the city with the mural at Spark by Coletivo RUA, and surprised passers-by with the Giraffe installation by Bordalo II.

  1. Essential

In a year of growth, we returned to what truly matters. Through the concept of The New Essential, we spoke about living with quality in spaces that are well-designed, sustainable, and functional, about homes that adapt to life, not the other way around.

To live with the essential is also to choose consciously: less waste, more purpose. The luxury of the future lies not in having more, but in living better, with what makes sense.

  1. Industrialisation

2025 was also a year of technical transformation. The industrialisation of construction methods, the reinforcement of digital modelling through BIM, and the pursuit of greater efficiency, precision, and sustainability have reshaped how we design and build.

At Castro Group, we see industrialisation as a path to innovate with method, scale with control, and build with greater impact and less waste. It’s this balance between vision and precision that we carry into the future.

  1. Regeneration

The city is alive, and our work is also about giving it new life. With another refurbishment project completed, we continued to invest in urban regeneration as a central strategic focus: requalifying urban fabric and creating new hubs of activity.

We believe that regeneration is about transforming responsibly, respecting history while shaping the future, and creating opportunities for shared value.

See you soon, 2026.

From 2025, we carry with us seven words that are, in truth, seven ways of being, with places, with people, with time, and with the future.

In 2026, we will continue to stand by our vision: closer, more flexible, more human, and more ambitious. With aligned teams, projects with real impact, and brands that respond to the new ways of living and working.

Because building the future means creating lasting value — with freedom, authenticity, and a collective sense of purpose.
